Rational emotive behavioural therapy
is a psychotherapy that focuses on resolving emotional and behavioural problems, thus enabling people to lead happier and more fulfilling lives.
A fundamental premise of REBT is that humans do not become emotionally disturbed by unfortunate circumstances, but by how they construct their views of those circumstances through their language, evaluative beliefs, views and philosophies about the world, themselves and others. By using different cognitive, emotive and behavioural methods and activities, children/teens can, with help from the therapist and by doing homework exercises, gain a more rational, self-helping and constructive way of thinking, emoting and behaving.
